About Claudia
My name is Claudia Serván Ortiz, founder of La Peque Tejidos. I was born in Chachapoyas, Amazonas, and grew up surrounded by the strength of my mother and family. I am also the niece of Luis Ortiz Perea, one of the nine students murdered in the Cantuta case, a story that shaped my path and commitment.
In 2018, I created La Peque Tejidos as a space to share the ancestral art of crochet I learned from my maternal family – a tradition of gathering, resilience, and care. Using mainly cotton yarn, I design pins, keychains, bookmarks, and more, inspired by culture, memory, and everyday life. Each piece is made with dedication, carrying both my personal history and a message of value for handmade work.
Peques Bookmarks are handcrafted pieces that celebrates the joy of reading while reminding us of the power of solidarity. Perfect for novels, poetry collections, or your personal journal, it’s more than a bookmark – it’s a gesture of connection and humanity.
The La Peque New Collection
Celebrates the power of craft, community, and care. Each piece is hand-crocheted in cotton, a natural and eco-friendly material, lovingly shaped by the hands of women who weave not just threads but also stories of friendship and solidarity.
More than accessories, these products embody humanity and connection. Every stitch reflects courage, every design speaks of community, and every item invites you to carry a piece of hope and dignity with you.
Handmade with love and courage, this crochet piece embodies the spirit of solidarity that blooms even in difficult times. Inspired by the Cantuta (Qantuchik), the sacred flower of the Andes, it symbolizes memory, resilience, and shared hope. Each stitch is an act of care, an invitation to weave community.
This handmade piece, crafted with organic materials, celebrates the power of love in the world. Each stitch carries intention, reminding us that love, like craft, is both delicate and enduring.
